HEAD COACH
CHRIS COLE
OF
ROCK CREEK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
 PRESEASON INTERVIEW

ROCK CREEK CHRISTIAN ACADEMY
UPPER MARLBORO MD.

1. Can you introduce yourself & give us some insight into your coaching background? Chris Cole, I started out as a trainer, training top high school kids such as Roddy Peters, Melo Trimble, Nate Britt, Kris Jenkins & moved on to pros Rodney Magruder, Norris Cole and a pre injury Nolan Smith. I coached 1 year at National Christian. Got the job at Rock Creek previously know as Clinton Christian & been here for 4 yrs. 2yrs Capital Beltway Champ, 3 years Coach of the Year.

2. What is your focus going into this season is it the same as last season or has it changed? Focus is always the same get better everyday and hopefully be at our best at the end. Different methods and buttons to push but focus always stays the same.

3. You had a few players from last years team who are considered to be D1 talent transfer, how do you prepare going forward after those transfers? Every year is different, last year everyone returned this year some key guys transferred the way we work never changes so guys who have been preparing for this opportunity have it. Next guy up kinda thing. Our system will change a little bit, staples have to stay the same as far as the little things that help us win.

4. Who are the players in your program who you are expecting to play well this season, are there any new players we should look out for? Jermaine Harris obviously but I think Jon Preston and Keyante Williams (hurt till January) will surprise ppl with their developing skill set.

5. Senior Jermaine Harris often talks about his skill development within your program - can you go more into detail into how you helped him develop into a D1 talent recruited by several high majors? Well coaching is overrated at times the kids have to be WILLING. But what Jermaine alludes to is the amount of time we work on the indivisible skills of our guys and the attention to detail we concentrate on. Then it’s a benefit to anyone getting better to be in the gym with maybe 4 coaches helping and two other guys we are able to put together small groups a lot for more specific work because we don’t have the demands of a bigger school.

6. What are your team goals & personal goals for the upcoming season? Team goals We want to win our conference and hopefully win a state title. Personal goals is to make sure all my seniors are set for college or whatever productive step they would like to take after high school.
