DuVal 6-foot-2 combo guard Michael Cunningham, who was forced to sit out his senior campaign after being ruled ineligible, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball at the University of South Carolina-Upstate.

Cunningham averaged a team-high 18.1 points per game at DuVal during the 2012-2013 season and led the Tigers to an 18-5 record. On the AAU circuit, Cunningham has played for both of the area’s preeminent programs in Team Takeover and D.C. Assault and received his first college offer from Towson in March of 2013. He also received offers from LIU and Robert Morris among others.
