It’s been a tough year for Kevin Durant. The 2014 MVP is out for the season after having surgery for his right foot again in March. He only played in 27 games this year, and the Thunder did not make the playoffs. But while KD will be watching the playoffs from home, the Nike KD7 Elite will make a run all the way to the NBA Finals.

Nike is set to release the first of three KD7 Elite’s just in time for round one, and they’ll subsequently release a new version for each of the next two rounds of the playoffs.
First up is the KD7 Elite “Team” which dropped this past Friday. Featuring a blue graphite (a mix of blue and green) colorway, the KD7 is designed for players who require a lightweight shoe with breathability and a low top build. The shoe also has accents of orange and neon green throughout the Swoosh, Flywire and back.

It sits on a grey midsole with clear Zoom bubble on the heel, which offers added support. Expect to see plenty of this KD7 throughout the first round, as it has proved to be a really popular model for players on the Thunder and around the league. It’s also available to those of us not playing in the first round of the NBA playoffs beginning Friday here.

Once the first round wraps up the releases will keep coming. The KD7 Elite “Elevate” collection drops on May 15th. Shown above, this shoe features blue throughout, with another translucent Zoom bubble on the back.

The last in the three-shoe series, the KD7 Elite “Rose Gold” will be released on June 5th, just in time for the 2015 NBA Finals. Just like all of the other Elite Series shoes released in June, this one takes inspiration from the Larry O’Brien Trophy.

It features gold accents and a gold swoosh, and is likely to be worn prominently in the NBA Finals. Even though Kevin Durant himself won’t be making a title run this year, the KD7 Elite collection will be going all the way through the playoffs.
