DCIAA CHAMPION AYINDE HIKIM EXCLUSIVE TWITTER INTERVIEW - ALL-MET ELITE

DCIAA CHAMPION
 AYINDE HIKIM
EXCLUSIVE TWITTER INTERVIEW
ALL-MET ELITE

WILSON HS.
N.W. WASHINGTON D.C.

1. Age, height, weight? 16,6'0,167 lbs

2. What schools, AAU, boys & girls, rec teams did you play for growing up? Friendship Woodridge middle school, Future Players, DC Assault &  Beacon House.

3. Wilson won the DCIAA championship this year what was your mindset going into the season & after winning the championship? Going into the season this year my mindset was to win a championship not only for the seniors but also for me and my coaches. After we won the championship I understood what "the process" truly means. As a freshman we sucked, then coming into my sophomore year I knew we were good but were still missing that one piece, the week after my sophomore year ended we started to have our off-season workouts and I knew then that the upcoming year we were going to win because we worked for it everyday until we held up that trophy.

4. How would you describe your game? I would describe my game as similar to Russell Westbrook in the way he puts his team on his back and does anything for them to win.

5. What will you work on this spring/summer to improve your game? Continue to work on everything but mainly my jump shot and get a little better with my decision making at times.

6. What is the biggest misconception about playing in the DCIAA? That it's somehow easy because it's public school.

7. What are your personal goals for this spring/summer & Sr. year? Come out of the spring/summer with college offers and end my senior year off with a championship.

8. What schools have offered you or have shown you interest?  American, Duquesne & Miami-Ohio have shown interest so far.

9. What has your experience been like playing on the UA circuit? Playing on the UA circuit has helped me to develop into a better point guard.

10. How has the Wilson coaching staff helped you to develop and expand your game? The Wilson coaching staff has helped me a lot Mr. Hernandez, Coach Gus and most importantly Coach Tee. I mean he's a great trainer and mentor. We workout just about everyday with weights and also on the court, he really holds me accountable because he knows that this is what I love to do so he makes sure he's there to help me and I probably wouldn't be the player/young man I am today if it wasn't for Coach Tee and the rest of the coaches. Also Coach Ty from Beacon House has really helped me too, he's Coach Tee's father so that's how I met him. He just really instored that confidence in me that I didn't have myself and always told me I was the best and always believed in me.
