Martin Geben, a 6-foot-8 center recruit out of Hagerstown
(Md.) St. Maria Goretti, committed to Notre Dame Friday afternoon.
"I just felt that it was a good fit for me," Geben
said. "It's good academically and they have a good basketball program that
is going in the right direction. I really was comfortable with the coaching
staff and I loved the visit."
"Just the overall mix of athletics, academics and the
school," he said when asked about his decision. "The whole feeling of
Notre Dame."
"The coaching staff was there with me from the
beginning," he added. "They've been in contact and checking in every
now and then.
A bruising big man, Geben played with Team Takeover on the
AAU circuit. Geben plays strong in the paint, rebounds his area well, has a
good set of hands and has nice touch around the rim.
Geben is regarded as a four-star recruit
