BALTIMORE'S FINEST 17U AAU - TEMPLE TEAM CAMP - ALL-MET ELITE

Baltimore’s Finest (Md.)
Most of the teams that competed at Temple were fairly familiar with each other, all being from the Philadelphia area. Baltimore’s Finest, an AAU team, is obviously not one of them.
“It’s a chance for the kids to see competition from out of town,” coach Ken Gibson told CoBL. “For them to be able to play against the best players, not just in Maryland. A lot of these guys I haven’t seen. We’ve been to George Mason, VCU, but being up here we get to see the Philly talent. We see some of the guys that are already being recruited. That way you get to see where you at.”

Temple has its eye on a few of the players that competed for Baltimore’s Finest this weekend. Will Robinson (2015/Coppin Academy) came to Temple for an unofficial visit last week, and both Jordan McNeil (2014/Mount St. Joseph) and Allen Costly (2014/St. Frances) have drawn interest from Temple coaches.

“The guy who runs our program, Mark Karcher, played here,” Gibson said. “We really wanted to get one of our guys, like Will–same size, same frame, same game–we think he’d be a great fit.”
Perhaps it was the Temple connection, but Gibson was very complimentary of the camp.
“It was great coming up here, for them being an Under Armour school, and me being an Under Armour program, so it’s great to be involved with Temple,” Gibson said. “Hopefully I can get a kid to play for this program. I think it’s one of the best ones out there.”
