GONZAGA HIGH SCHOOL - KRIS JENKINS COMMITS TO VILLANOVA - ALL-MET ELITE

GONZAGA HIGH SCHOOL
 KRIS JENKINS COMMITS
TO
VILLANOVA UNIVERSITY
 ALL-MET ELITE

Villanova men’s basketball picked up its first commitment for the freshman class of 2013 on Sunday when 6-foot-6 forward Kris Jenkins informed Wildcats coach Jay Wright he had accepted his scholarship offer, according to several web sites.
The 235-pound Jenkins, who can play either forward position, was ranked 63rd in the class of 2013 by Rivals.com and 74th by Scout.com, which also listed him as 18th at his position. Both recruiting services have given him a four-star rating.
Jenkins averaged 19.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.9 steals last season for Gonzaga College High School in Washington, leading his team to a 27-7 record and the championship of the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference.
He did not play AAU basketball this season after undergoing surgery on his left pinky finger.
Jenkins also was offered a scholarship by Rutgers, Xavier, Clemson and Miami. He told Zagsblog.com the reason he chose Villanova was that Wright and his staff “gave me a vision, a plan for me that was something I couldn’t turn down.”
