QUINN COOK - HEATING UP
DUKE UNIVERSITY
ALL-MET ELITE
COOK HEATING UP: Duke freshman point guard Quinn Cook has come on strong of late, and hasn’t committed a turnover in his past 62 minutes on the floor (during the first half of the Blue Devils’ win against UNC Greensboro on Dec. 19). The reserve is averaging 12 points, 6.3 assists and 1.0 steals in his past three games.
“He’s the best passer we have on the perimeter,’’ Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “He’s a natural point guard [with] his ability to run the team, pass, defend the ball. Basically do what a point guard’s supposed to do in a traditional sense. He’s gotten a lot better, a lot stronger, he’s healthy. Hopefully he’ll continue to show that improvement. He’s played really well since coming back from Christmas. He did well before that, but he’s playing much better after Christmas.”
