MYLES STUTE - THE FUTURE HAS ARRIVED - ALL-MET ELITE

MYLES STUTE
CLASS of 2020
 THE FUTURE HAS ARRIVED
 ALL-MET ELITE

SCHOOL WITHOUT WALLS @ FRANCIS STEVENS
WASHINGTON D.C.
Minneapolis native 6'6 Myles Stute ('20) brought perimeter mastery, turnaround jumper to HoopElite DMV today #Next http://t.co/81KK0vEV6w

My names is Myles Stute I started playing basketball at the age of 3 and have been in love ever since.

I'm 13 years old, 6'5", I attend School Without Walls @ Francis Stevens, I am currently in the 8th grade. I prefer to play the small forward, but I am able to play shooting guard through power forward.

The most influential adult in basketball to me is my father. He instilled a big part of my work ethic and from his job career showed me just what hard work does. My mother and father are the most influential adults in my life and I can't thank them enough for shaping me into the young man I have become today.

I'm originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and played for Benilde-St.Margret's high school varsity basketball before moving this year. For AAU I played with MPLS FAB and we placed 9th at AAU nationals in Greensboro, NC this past summer.

I moved to Washington, D.C. on December 24th because my father received a job opportunity here  and we decided to relocate as a family. We also have a couple of family members in the DMV.

As of right now I play for Team Takeover Orange and my coach is Kelvin Johnson, he's a phenomenal coach and has elevated my game through the past couple of months. From the month of April on I will play for Team Takeover Black which is coached by Keith Stevens.

My biggest basketball moment or accomplishment so far would have to be getting my first D1 interest from a college - George Washington University. It humbled me and showed me that my name is out there, but now it's time for me to lock down and really work my tail off

While working out by myself in the gym I get a lot of dribbling in as I think that will take my game to another level. I also do a lot of off the dribble moves while in the gym by myself, and a lot of free throws because lately my free throws aren't where I'd like them to be. Lastly, I am working on getting more explosive with my dunks and perfecting new ones. Those are just a couple things I've been working on by myself but I do a lot more work with my team and my trainers.

For high school, the only schools I'm considering are Gonzaga and DeMatha.

My favorite player in high school has got to be none other than Jayson Tatum. I really tried to emulate some of my game after him and I've added some of his moves to my game. He's an exceptional player. In college, Ben Simmons is my go to guy even though I've been a Duke fan since I was 5. At the NBA level, my favorite player is a draw between Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. Stephen curry has been my favorite player ever since he put up big numbers against a talented Duke team back in '09. I've always loved Klay because of the way he led his Washington State team and how was named to the Pac-10 All Freshman team.

If I could play 1on1 against any player on any level, it would be Jabari Parker in Milwaukee. He's a matchup nightmare and I want to see how tough it is to guard him personally.

The style of basketball from where I'm from is much different than it is down in the DMV. In Minnesota, there's only a few guys that can really play, to name a few would be Gary Trent Jr. and Amir Coffee. In my grade, my team and I really dominated Minnesota and we had a lot of 8th graders playing varsity level basketball this year but other than that, the talent there isn't so great. In the DMV, every night there's competition to play against that will challenge you and make you a better player. Not only are you playing against great players but so many great players are on your team as well and I've made the most out of what I can. It was really a blessing in disguise for me to move across the country in the middle of my 8th grade year, and it's been amazing so far.

The most points I've scored in a game was 56 back in Minnesota in a fall league game against some of the top freshman in Minnesota. You can find a couple clips from the game on my Instagram
@myle22tute. The toughest player for me to play against in the 8th grade would have to be my teammate Terrance Williams. Going against him during practice really raised my defensive and offensive IQ a lot in the past couple of months and he's a great player. Going head to head in a game with AJ Hoggard and Team Final Blue taught me a lot as a player, and it turned out to be a great game even though we lost. That loss hurt us as a team and we learned a lot of lessons from that game.

My future goals are to first go undefeated with Team Takeover Black on our summer circuit. We put in so much work and I believe we have a very strong chance to win a lot of games if not all of them. Another goal I have for this upcoming summer is to add at least 9 inches to my vertical. Some more goals I have is to attract more interest from colleges and gain some scholarships over the next 4-5 months.
