McAloon was chosen as the 2014 WCAC Coach of the Year for boys’ basketball. Now in his second year as St. John’s head coach, he was also named Coach of the Year three times during his seven-year tenure at Benedictine College Preparatory in Richmond, VA. He credits the team for his success, citing the program’s emphasis on working together to achieve their goals.
“I think it reflects the amount of work the boys and my staff put in. We always talk about family and unity, and this honor is a direct result of their effort and dedication,” McAloon said.
