Chris Mack has hired Mike Pegues of Delaware and Ashley Howard of Drexel to fill the assistant coaching vacancies left by Rasheen Davis (Manhattan) and Kareem Richardson (Louisville).Pegues, a native of Forestville, Md. and a former standout at national power DeMatha Catholic High School in the Washington, D.C. Pegues worked with Blue Hens post players during his two years as an assistant coach at his alma mater and played a role in the program’s recruiting strides. He has Washington, D.C. connections from his time with premier high school programs (Bishop O’Connell, DeMatha Catholic) and the DC Assault AAU team. Pegues, a former Academic All-American and Delaware’s all-time leading scorer (2,030 points), competed professionally abroad and in the Continental Basketball Association before a knee injury ended his playing career.
