Patterson (Md.) High from St. Patrick

Aquille Carr, a Seton Hall University men’s basketball recruit and one of the nation’s top high school basketball players, left St. Patrick High in Elizabeth last month and returned to his hometown of Baltimore to finish out his junior year.
Carr transferred from Patterson (Md.) High to St. Patrick in March to work on his grades. St. Patrick coach Chris Chavannes said in a text message that Carr returned to Patterson to be closer to his infant daughter, Averi. Chavannes added he did not know if Carr would return to St. Patrick.
St. Patrick principal Joe Picaro said Carr left the school, in part, because of poor attendance.
“It just didn’t work out,” Picaro said. “It wasn’t a good fit for him.”
The 5-7, 140-pound Carr is the No. 38 overall recruit in the 2013 class, according to Rivals.com. He is considered one of the most electrifying players in the country because of his flashy play — heavy on high-flying dunks and cross-over dribbles.
Patterson coach Harry Martin told the Baltimore Sun he expects Carr to play for his team next season. Carr is the two-time All-Metro player of the year. He averaged 24 points, five assists and three steals last season for Patterson.
